October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. As a psychiatrist, I am asked about coping skills to deal with difficult diagnoses, such as cancer. In this blog post (originally published in 2013) , Dr. Mel shares 5 ways to put your mental health first when facing a serious illness.
I kept my list of reasons to 5 because these are the reasons I hear most often. Whatever your reason for toughing it out alone, someone in your circle of family or friends WANTS to help you! Give them a chance to do it!
